What
is a Mastermind Group?
Mastermind is a concept first introduced by Napoleon Hill nearly
seventy years ago. He was the first author of the modern era to
specifically study successful business people and
then to find the commonalities for the purpose
of educating other people about the elements necessary for success.
He studied and interviewed such people as: Henry Ford, William Wrigley
Jr., Charles Schwab, Theodore Roosevelt, William Jennings Bryan,
King Gillette, John D. Rockefeller, Thomas Edison, FW Woolworth,
Clarence Darrow, Woodrow Wilson, William Taft, Alexander Graham
Bell, and others.
One of the commonalities that he found among ALL of these great men
was that they employed what he termed to be a “mastermind
group,” that is, a group of people that they met with on
a regular basis to help them to achieve their goals.
The reason that it works, according to Mr. Hill, is that “no
two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third,
invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.”
Basically – if you have a group of intelligent people who
are working together for the same purpose – the combined power
of your brains FAR outweighs the power of those same brains who
are working alone! This is because your ideas – once bounced
off of each other – produces ideas on TOP of ideas –
as well as ideas for implementing actions to these ideas!
According to Mr. Hill: “Economic advantages may be created
by any person who surrounds himself with the advice, counsel, and
personal cooperation of a group of men who are willing to lend him
wholehearted aid, in a spirit of perfect harmony. This form of cooperative
alliance has been the basis of nearly every great fortune.”
Your Mastermind facilitator takes all of the basics of the mastermind
group and then takes it to another level! Your Mastermind consists
of three parts:
-
Brainstorming (the basis of a mastermind group), and
-
Accountability (turns brainstorming ideas into ACTIONS which
you are accountable to the group to complete), and
-
Networking (the natural product of getting to know your fellow
members very well – thereby providing opportunities to
do business and refer each other).
While each of these elements individually may produce some results
for you and your business, your Mastermind Group – by combining
all three elements - provides incredible momentum that is certain
to take you where you want to be!
Your Mastermind facilitator and fellow members are there to help
you, trade experiences and ideas for overcoming your challenges,
and hold you accountable to actually DOING what you need to do to
reach your goals all in a non-judgmental and supportive environment.

"Executive
coaches are not for the meek. They’re for people who value
unambiguous feedback. All coaches have one thing in common;
it’s that they are ruthlessly results-oriented."
